Continuing Concerns Regarding eBay and International Trademark Enforcement Despite many years of efforts to protect our registered trademark rights, Oxford HOTGRIPS-branded merchandise continues to be advertised to purchasers in the United States and Canada through international online marketplaces. During December 2025, our searches of eBay identified thousands of listings involving heated handlebar grips, including extensive offerings of Oxford HOTGRIPS merchandise. We have retained records documenting numerous listings and the availability of international shipping to North American addresses. In March 2026, following direct correspondence concerning my registered HOT GRIPS® trademark, Comoto Holdings, parent company of Cycle Gear, RevZilla, and J&P Cycles, confirmed through its legal counsel that it had removed its Oxford HotGrips listings and discontinued marketing and selling those products. Nevertheless, after hundreds of infringement reports submitted through eBay's Verified Rights Owner (VeRO) program, substantially similar Oxford HOTGRIPS listings continue to appear. In October 2026, a United Kingdom seller advertised wholesale lots containing 10 and 20 sets of Oxford HOTGRIPS motorcycle heated grips, with eBay's Global Shipping Programme explicitly offering delivery to the United States. The same seller also advertised numerous individual retail kits. Separate listings associated with Brazil-based sellers advertised Oxford HOTGRIPS merchandise for delivery to U.S. buyers. These developments raise serious questions concerning the effectiveness of eBay's trademark-enforcement procedures, particularly where repeated complaints identify substantially similar products and seller activity. Our concern is not competition in the heated-handlebar-grip industry. It is the continued offering of merchandise bearing a designation that we believe infringes our registered trademark rights within the United States and Canada. We question why eBay, with its sophisticated automated listing systems and international shipping controls, cannot implement effective destination-specific screening of repeatedly disputed trademark designations. We believe this issue warrants independent investigation into eBay's VeRO enforcement practices, seller-account oversight, and continued facilitation of international transactions following specific infringement notices. Our objective is to encourage meaningful examination of the responsibilities of major international marketplaces in protecting established intellectual-property rights. THE "HOT GRIP®" ORIGIN
Jim Hollander, ISDT and Enduro racer invented and developed "Hot Grips®"
"Hot Grips®" were developed by Jim Hollander, who lives in the northeast where much riding and racing is done long into the cold weather. Over the years, Jim has been a successful cross-country enduro rider with several ISDT campaigns to his many accomplishments. Jim felt if he could develop a grip that heated, it would solve many of the problems that enduro and hare scramble riders face while racing in the cold. Over the past 3 years, Jim has developed "Hot Grips®", using National Enduro, Champion Dick Burleson as his chief tester. Over the past year, Jim refined the "Hot Grip®", and went into production. Hi-Point Racing Products helped back Jim's efforts and is now exclusively distributing the revolutionary "Hot Grips®". HOW THEY WORK "Hot Grips®" incorporate resistance heating wire wound into the grip. The grip's output is 15 watts per grip. As the resistance wiring is evenly distributed in the grip, the grip heats evenly, warming the rider's hands. "Hot Grips®" work on either 6 or 12 volt systems, or where the electrical system has the capacity to run a headlight. Resistance wiring is coiled uniquely into the grip for even heat distribution. Though "Hot Grips®" were developed for the enduro rider, their application only begins there. "Hot Grips®" can be used where ever there is a 6 or 12 volt power source. This includes STREET BIKES, SNOWMOBILES, 3 WHEELERS (i.e. ATV's), etc. In simple terms, ANYWHERE A STANDARD HAND GRIP IS USED! Enduro and hare scramble riders use "Hot Grips®" in conjunction with hand protectors, like Dick Burleson's set-up in the photo, for total protection. Street bikes and snowmobiles with fairings already have wind protection for the hands.
